One or more prestressing strands in the same sheathing form a tendon. Hence, in general a tendon can have more than one strand, if at stressing the strands contained in the same sheathing are pulled one after the other, the tendons is referred to as mono strand tendons, however if the strands within the same sheathing are pulled all at the same time, the tendons is referred to as multi strand tendon. In other words, the term of mono and multi strands is an attribute of the stressing operation.
