Post-Tension Structural Slabs

  • ESPT designs, supply and installs durable, state-of-the-art post-tensioning systems that comply with international standards and approval guidelines in Gulf countries, Egypt and Many Countries in Africa. Esolution includes several systems that are specifically designed for different applications and requirements.
  • Assessing a system suits different design schemes suits a building with following keys:
  • 1. Type of structural element – influenced by Member available depth for Post-tension design
  • o Slab tendons with flat ducts are generally used for thin structural members
  • o Multistrand tendons can be used for any other application includes Post-tension transfer beams, Large spans ribbed Post tension slabs and Pre-stressed girders in building
  • o ESPT Achieved up to 36.00 meters Post tension girders in large spans application using Multi strands tendon in building construction
  • 2. Structural design – taking account of structural design requirements
  • o Post-tensioning can be introduced using internal or external tendons, or a combination of both
  • o In addition, slab post-tensioning tendons can be either bonded or unbonded depending on the application and Local approvals
  • 3. Post tension tendon protection as defined by FIB Bulletin can be Protection Level-01/02/03 depends on required protection against corrosion

Post-tensioned Solid Slabs

  • The solid post-tensioned flat slab reduces the slab thickness and the overall height of the building.
  • By introducing a favourable state of forces, it allows for less concrete and steel usage compared to reinforced slabs.

Internally voided Slabs

Internally voided post-tensioned slabs are designed to minimize self-weight and material consumption.

They use voids created by polystyrene blocks or plastic spheres, reducing both concrete and steel usage.

These slabs further enhance the sustainability benefits of post-tensioning by combining it with voiding techniques.
